North Norfolk Community Transport
This lovely picture comes from North Norfolk Community Transport, a charity supporting people of all ages in north Norfolk who are without their own transport and who are unable to use public transport for health or disability reasons or simply because there is no suitable, available service for them. The charity’s vision is ‘to bring communities together’ which they are certainly doing by providing group transportation, with new friends being made on the shopping trips and excursions. They are now also working collaboratively with other local charities who have chosen their services for regular trips and are in touch with local medical practices and social prescribers to assist people to get to their medical appointments. This has the added benefit of providing a social opportunity, alleviating isolation and loneliness which we are always pleased to help with. One of the wonderful pieces of feedback from a passenger they shared with us in their end of grant report was “I’m 85 and disabled so not a happy life – this makes it more pleasurable and something to look forward to. I hope it lasts forever!”
