General (or Policy Statement)

TThe Edward Gostling Foundation (“EGF”, “we” or “us”) is committed to promoting equal opportunities for everyone including; its Trustees, staff, Committee Members, its applicants and the general public and believe that everyone is entitled to equality of opportunity.

Commitment

In accordance with its legal responsibility, EGF will ensure that there is no discrimination or prejudice against anyone. The Foundation is committed to treating all people with dignity and respect, valuing the diversity of all. 

EGF will eliminate all forms of discrimination on grounds of any of the protected characteristics listed in the Equality Act 2010 (link below) and will tackle social exclusion, inequality, discrimination and disadvantage.

Scope of Policy

EGF will not discriminate or tolerate discrimination on any grounds laid down in the Equality Act 2010 or other grounds of discrimination not prohibited by legislation.

Everyone at EGF will take responsibility for challenging stereotypes and all forms of discrimination.

Everyone at EGF will promote equality of opportunity and will investigate all complaints of discrimination.

Equal opportunities should be implicit and explicit in all policies and procedures.
