Stepping Stones
Stepping Stones reported to us recently on their activities during the year since they received our endowment. They continue to provide play and learn clubs and day care/nursery provision to children with additional and specialist needs based in Essex, as well as supporting families who are struggling to navigate the medical and educational systems.
The charity formed in 1991 with the aim of providing space to help children understand and accept each other’s differences, encouraging them, through play, to reach their full potential. Today they support children with a wide range of disabilities including physical, autism, various syndromes as well as children who have multi-sensory disability or those who are terminally ill. They also have children who are visually or hearing impaired so teach Makaton signing to enable them to communicate with each other which we think is wonderful.
