Bentilee Volunteers

Bentilee Volunteers is a charity at the heart of its community providing vital support and services to people living in Bentilee and Stoke-on-Trent.  It was lovely to hear from them recently with an update on their activities since our grant award towards operating costs. It was really pleasing to hear that they had been able to re-open Neighbourlink, their social club for older residents which supports up to 65 members each week. Their members are referred via Social Services and have health problems and/or mobility issues or disabilities and often suffer social isolation.  The charity provides a friendly meeting place with a hot lunch and organises activities and day trips. Vitally they offer door to door transport without which many of their members would not be able to attend. It was great to see some of their members joining in and enjoying some gentle exercise.
