AppleCast

AppleCast based in Wigan is a charity that seeks to help vulnerable people achieve through the sport of angling, horticulture and work-based learning. We have supported them for a few years now and our most recent grant saw them employ a wellbeing worker who has responsibility for delivering a structured programme of activities to those with low level mental health issues.  The feedback we have received from the charity recently is really positive and they have been able to grow their provision so that they are now working with and providing activities for at least 15 people per week who have been referred to them. Many of the people they help are living independently but have little or no contact with their local community. Through the support they receive from AppleCast they are able to build up confidence and gain practical skills which is lovely to hear.
