Young Gloucestershire

Young Gloucestershire (YG) is a charity that supports young people who are facing difficult times. Whether they are coping with a disruptive home, caring for a family member, have a mental health or any other issue, YG seeks to build a relationship with the young person, get to understand their needs and offers practical ways and support to help them find confidence and develop skills to cope with their situation and to move forward in life.

The charity approached us in late 2020 for assistance with a project they had to create and provide a Well-Being Zone at their new headquarters in Gloucester Quays. The space which has been created in the new Centre is open daily and has already become a place where young people can visit and feel calm, relaxed and safe. It is also used for holding individual and group counselling sessions, drugs and alcohol support, interaction with Buddy the therapy dog and many more activities such as access to work training. A recent impact report from YG detailed how having the space has already been so beneficial to both the young people and staff. We were delighted to hear this!
