4Sight Vision Support
4Sight Vision Support was established in 1921 to support blind and partially sighted people in West Sussex. The charity looks after over 4,000 people in the county annually by providing advice and guidance through a wide range of practical support solutions to help them remain independent following sight loss. 4Sight has a team of 300 volunteers to be able to offer their services which are free of charge. The charity relies 100% on voluntary donations and we were really pleased to have been able to support the core costs of their Outreach Team at a time when many of their members needed advice support and reassurance. During lockdown, amongst their many achievements, 1,700 kindness packs were delivered and more than 6,500 phone calls and 800 hours were spent providing advice and support. The charity is busy re-defining their service model, building on the experience of the pandemic to devise a new ‘Future Services’ strategy and we wish them all the best with that.
